Our school whakatauki above, is a focus for all ākonga learners and kaimahi staff at Picton School. It is a part of daily school life through positive interactions, continued reflections and an expectation that we demonstrate mana enhancing practices to promote wellbeing for all.
We are committed to ensuring Hauora Wellbeing is one of our priorities at Picton School and that as Kaimahi staff, we are constantly being positive role models for our tamariki and whānau by demonstrating the importance of looking after our Mental, Physical, Social, and Emotional Wellbeing.
We provide a range of learning opportunities for ourselves and our school community to engage in fun and motivating activities and by engaging in genuine and honest interactions to support our individual and collective wellbeing. This is reflected in the engagement of our kura in both learning, and positive relationships with our whānau.
We are a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) school and our teachers are all trained in Restorative Practices. At Picton School we teach through our values, and reward positive behaviour. We have high expectations of all of our students, and believe in them with unconditional positive regard.
At Picton School, our desired outcome is to nurture well-rounded tamariki, who are equipped with a diverse set of skills and qualities essential for success in all areas of life.
