Picton at the head of the Queen Charlotte Sounds is the commercial centre for almost all the activity in the wonderful Marlborough Sounds. Small and friendly Picton offers both its residents and visitors a beautiful place to relax with cafes,The Marlborough Aquarium, an old trading scow, the Echo and the Edwin Fox Museum to name but a few.

Seen below are views from Picton Foreshore,where many community events such as the Picton Sculpture Symposium and The Mid-Winter's Swim are held. A playpark, mini-golf and miniature railway also offer much family fun.
